Sreepur Village x Ocean Alliance Historical Tote Bag

Ocean Alliance is thrilled to announce a collaboration with the Sreepur Village, based in rural Bangladesh. Since 1989, Sreepur Village, known in Bangladesh as Shishu Polli Plus, has been providing a safe space for approximately 540 people, 140 mothers and their children, at any one time, enabling them to reimagine their futures.

Pat Kerr, CEO Iain Kerr's sister, founded Sreepur Village 36 years ago and remains on the board to this day as Overseas Director. Pat and Iain have dedicated their lives to the benefit of humanity, one to the wild world, and one to the lives of mothers and children. A key part of Sreepur Village's philosophy is giving the mothers trade skills, such as creating hand-crafted gifts, fabric weaving, agriculture, tailoring, or bicycle repair, so that when they leave the village, they can stand on their own feet. 

In what Iain Kerr calls a win-win-win scenario, Ocean Alliance has worked closely with Sreepur Village to create limited edition tote bags, handcrafted by mothers in training (under World Fair Trade Organization protocols), with 50% of all profits going directly back to the village, and 50% of profits going towards support of the whales and oceans. Please consider helping those in need this holiday season by purchasing a bag, which will empower women in Bangladesh and support two wonderful non-profit organizations.
